Fight For Me: Queer Urban Fantasy Short Story available now! + Pride Sale!

Okay so this post is a few days late. Whoops. But I’ve been pretty low on spoons thanks to my chronic illness lately.

But the good news is that my new short story was published on June 1st and is available to buy from all ebook retailers right now!

Fight For Me is a 12,000 word Urban Fantasy short story about an aroace warlock and his immortal best friend. I’ll post the full blurb with buy links at the bottom.

June also means two other things which I love. One) that it’s my birthday month! And two) that it’s pride month. Happy Pride to everyone who is any where on the queer alphabet, whether you’re out or not, sure or questioning.

In other Pride related news, I’m really excited to be involved with a few sales this month for Queer books. First up is a sale for a book bundle on indie sales platform Itch.io. The bundle is for a whole bunch of books that have aromantic representation. My YA sci-fi A Stage Over Ruthless Stars is included in this bundle. You can get all 23 books in the bundle for only $15, or pay $20 to get 13 extra books as well. Itch being a platform aimed purely at indie creators means they also have an option for paying more for things if you want to give indie creators extra. The end of the month will bring another couple of sales. One more book bundle, this time for Queer Science fiction books will be available at the end of the month. It will be another opportunity to get a whole bunch of great queer sci-fi books in one go. There will also be an individual queer indie author spotlight sale at the end of the month where you’ll be able to get A Stage Over Ruthless Stars for cheap without buying a whole bundle of other books if bundles aren’t your thing! I’ll post links for those towards the end of the month so keep an eye out for those.

Fight For Me:

Alec spends his life travelling the world, teleporting between slopes, cities and beaches to fill his time. As an immortal warlock he has  plenty of it. Nothing ties him down apart from the warded warehouse he calls home and a weekly appointment with his only friend at a local bar. Trading insults with Euan is the one part of his life that fills the loneliness. Not that he’d ever admit that to the damn fairy.

But when Alec returns from his latest trip to find the local fairies out in numbers hunting a vampire – their most hated enemy – Euan leaves early to help his fellow fey in the hunt. Rather than stay alone Alec gives in and follows. But before Alec can find him Euan gets attacked and turned. Now, the fairies Euan was hunting alongside want him dead too.

With Euan hurt and in danger, Alec quickly realises exactly how, and with who, he wants to spend the rest of his very long life. Now all he has to do is risk his own, but what are friends for?
